What I should acquire through studying abroad

Yesterday, there was an event that some guest speaker told his journey of starting his own company. In the event, one student got attention from everyone in the room. It was because he questioned so many times in the Q&A session while others kept quiet. He seemed to be aggressive and highly motivated. It reminds me of my purposes of studying abroad. Let’s dig into these.

Before coming to the US, I studied at Keio University for a year and a half. I met a lot of students who are way more capable and passionate than me. It inspires me so much and I decided to study abroad to embrace a big challenge and surround myself with harsh environments. Additionally, I aimed to meet the smartest and competent students around the world.

However, recently I forgot this ambition from a long time. I saw a post in LinkedIn said that your future and every day attitudes are solely determined by people around you. Fortunately, that post and the experience yesterday brought me the reason why I am here again.

Today, I set my own objectives that have to be acquired through the study in the US. Be aggressive, surround yourself with challenging environment and capable people, and improving my English skills. Although there are a lot of other reasons I initially had, but this week I focus on these three policies.

I am going to keep track of activities and reviews every day on Excel. I’ll write a following note tomorrow. See you again.
