Kawauso- “Memory Cards”
Book Title: Memory Cards (思い出トランプ)
Chapter Title: Otter (かわうそ)
While I have not been going back to Japan for a year, my good friend gave me this paper-back book (short story collection).
The scent of an actual book and the moment of flipping the page allow me to dive deeper into the story and escape from the real world.
“Memory Cards" is written by Kuniko Mukoda, a female author who won Naoki Award, the most acclaimed award be given to the authors of the year. It consists of 13 short stories and that’s why the title is “Cards (Trump)".
This time, I gonna reflect on the first story of the book, “Otter".
Atsuko is somewhat has similar personality with me. She enjoys the everyday life with thrills, the most vivid moment of this is when she seemed like enjoying the moment when the neighborfood caused fire.
Actually, I have somewhat similar personality with her, so I can understand her. She is depicted like a hidden monster, but actually we are. We have monster inside. We have strong instinct inside. When we face dangerous moments, we feel we are alive. We don’t wanna die, but wanna feel die.
Make everyday life enjoyable and thrilling. Weave stories.
